I have an SKB case that has a form mold that fits my CE 24 perfectly but the case is a tank. It's basically a flight case. Because of the humidity where I live I want to find a more regular sized wood or molded case with a similar molded shape for the PRS. Does anyone know if anybody makes one?

Thanks,

Phil

I would suggest Pelican Peli 1745 Air Case. Not cheap (I don't believe that its more expensive than PRS case) but made to withstand nuclear blast, it's light and does what you described

I got a Hiscox for my CU24 (just couldn't carry round the extra weight of the stock case) and my CE fits it perfectly - they're built like tanks but are relatively light so suits me fine.

Not gonna lie… thePRS cases are a bit too hefty for my liking. I really like the updated fender molded cases. So light. Military grade outer shell. TSA approved lock. Keeps the teles and strats in their place with plenty of storage. Really designed with the idea of tossing it in a van or travel. I wish PRS cases were like this

Couldn't agree more. The case is heavier than the guitar, this is crazy

@Gurdybloke - blowing the dust off this thread to ask what model Hiscox case you got. Can you post a picture of the guitar in the case? I'm shopping for a case for my CE 24.

Thanks @MarcWink - I'm keeping my eye on those. Hopefully they'll be available in a couple of weeks.

The Ivory color Hiscox look like it would be a good match for my natural Maple top, and spec says the Hilcox is under 9 pounds. I don't think the new PRS case will be that light.

Hi Antknee apologies for not getting back before now. I haven't been posting recently as I have a lot on personally but am happy to assist. Frankly I'm not really that great with IT and haven't got the hang of posting photos on this site, however my avatar (I think that's what it's called?) shows my CE in the case.

It's a Hiscox Pro II and the list price here in the UK is about £150 (sorry not sure what that is in dollars). I got one on a deal and my CU 24 also fits snugly in it: however it's not a good fit for Strats, as I discovered to my cost!

I'd send a wrblink but I'm equally useless at copying and pasting these as well - ditto videos, but I hope this helps.

I have to say the new cases do look good though, much better than lugging around something that feels like a bit of furniture!
