There is a certain group of strange and wonderful people who insist that the middle pickup is "in the way" and they keep hitting it with their picking hand. In a fit of genius, this gentleman seems to have come up with a solution for that problem, by putting a protective ring around the pickup.

Was that before slang? I think GM was using Bethan, which is a more casual modern slang version of Elizabethan
