For those who don't like the price of the NF 53, the NF3 SE seems to be a good choice?

When looking at the comparison between these two guitars, the NF3 SE gets the deep dish pickups...actually three of them and a tremolo. For $800, your getting an excellent deal. Yes the neck is a tad longer on the NF 53, and swap ash wood, but in this video when comparing the two, they sound pretty close to me on the back an front pickup. In the middle position, the NF 53 has more of a Tele sound vs the NF3. However, NF3 provides a 5 way toggle which provides more sounds.

Anyone know why the NF3 bridge pickup is wired differently than the others? The red and black are connected only to each other and the two greens are used to go to the 5 way switch and ground. The others are reversed.

My answer is Nope the SE NF3 is not like the NF53 , its even different tone wise than the OG NF3.
The SE NF3 is a nice guitar and some will love it, for me it needed to lean one way or another more , not close enough to a Mini Hum , Not close enough to a Single coil.
The NF53 is a roughly Tele shaped guitar that kills with gain !!! ( nice clean also ) for me its not a Chicken picken Tele more like a Thinline with a solid body

My guess is the bridge pickup has the coils wired in series to give it more of a humbucker punch.

Personally, I'm very much enjoying the SE NF3, and that's coming from someone with a little less love for the SE range overall as of late. They sound very similar in the demo, to me. Not identical, but close.

In person they didn't sound alike. Maybe same family, maybe? I didn't expect them too being two very different guitars and I think YT videos are about as useless as a transistor radio 🤣

I wouldn't say useless...Miked up and run into a tube amp, they can get a perfect 'edge of breakup' tone!
