For the Love of Colored MOP

Colored mother of pearl has got to be one of the more beautiful things out there. Gold MOP, brown MOP, and in this case black MOP my personal favorite.

Same bird, different camera angles. Notice how the color changes with spectacular hues of red and green!

What are your favorite inlays for that matter?

I don’t really have a favourite inlay material. I just like it to suit the guitar.
That said, Paua goes with pretty much everything.

I think MOP is a classy and clean look, and certainly not over the top. Once the factory is able to reopen, I have a PS (ordered 18 mos ago) about to drop. It has a whole lot of gold MOP I’ll be happy to show.

I’m a fan of green/blue abalone. It used to be abundant off our local coast, but now is “fished out.” It’s still a local thing for me.
