Floating tremolo bridge height

Hello,

I'm a fairly new owner of a awesome PRS Standard SE 24 with a floating tremolo bridge, which I usually didn't have in previous guitars.

One of the first things I did was to change the strings in it from the ones it came with to 10-46. I knew that the bridge might go a weird angle, so I changed them one by one and was very careful.

After changing them, the bridge did in fact lift and tilt forward, so I went on to tighten the springs at the back, one turn at a time. The bridge now is quite parallel to the body, but I'm afraid it's still lifted in comparison to what was before. When I got the guitar, the bridge was practically touching the body, now there's quite a gap.

The guitar tunes nicely, the action is still awesome, and the trem works properly.

Do you think this bridge position can stay like this, or should I maybe add a spring, or change the spring setting from I I I to / I \ ?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks,

I had problems with the photos too, but if you right click and choose ''open image in new tab'', they show up.

@bodia sorry for being such a pain, on the PRS website I read that the bridge should be parallel to the body- check- but also about 1/16'' above the body. I'm afraid that before changing the strings it was about 1/16'' above the body, but now it's definitely higher. It doesn't look bad, but still.. Would you say that if it tunes well, has good action and the whammy works as it should, is this a matter of concern?

Thanks again for any help.

Nah. If it's all working good, I'd leave it be.
