What do we think the odds are of there ever being a more modern fixed bridge option for the CE 24 or Core Custom 24 lines? With the success of the Holcomb model, I've got to imagine the notion at leasts exists and it seems like an option that would have a lot of appeal to more modern players and still have the regular PRS curb appeal. I could also see the angle that they already make the Holcomb, but given it's limited finishes and that it's only available as an SE, I could see potential buyers passing on those.

I just got my first PRS (CE 24) and it's basically my dream guitar from the bottom up, but I also typically favor fixed bridge guitars and don't foresee myself being in a position to wait for a USA Core Holcomb to pop up (nor do I see myself being able to afford one when it does).

You can place a coin (or anything similar of the right thickness) in the narrow gap between the trem block and the body, and then screw the trem claw in a fair bit (jacking up the tension in the springs) to effectively “deck” the trem whilst keeping it at factory spec i.e. parallel to but not touching the body. If you’re not using the trem at all you wouldn’t even have to fasten it in any way as the pressure would hold it in place.

I have plenty of ways to block a trem, but I'm not looking to change anything with my current guitar and that's not what I'm asking, but thanks!

That would be kinda cool, IMO. PRS does tend to favour the ‘classic’ styles, and there’s nothing wrong with any of them, but a modern fixed bridge would be a nice addition.

Plus, if they can offer a Floyd Rose as well as their own trem then why not an alternative fixed bridge too?

Maybe on their upcoming T-style guitar? ;-)

For sure! I imagine the Floyd was a result of enough people asking for it. Considering how sought after the USA Holcomb tends to be (even by people with little to no interest in the name behind it, it would seem), it feels like there'd be decent traction for a non-sig modern fixed bridge model.

I'm sure that had some weight, but they wouldn't have gone to production with that or the SE/Core Custom 24 Floyd models if it wasn't something that had customer demand.
