I visited the factory for the first time yesterday with the incomparable DFD to pick out some guitars. Such a great place full of warm welcoming and laid back people. I really wanted to give a public thanks to DFD for organizing the trip and to Tina and Paul Miles for helping me pick out some really great woods and of course it was really exciting to meet PRSh and have a beer with the crew at the end of the day. I didn't take a lot of pics, but saw a bunch of amazing private stocks in progress and saw some of the wood library projects going on and was absolutely floored by the wood quality of the WL guitars in person. I hope everyone on the forum also gets a chance to visit someday!

A non PRS musician approached me last night about going in the spring. We both live a little over an hour from the factory. I can`t wait!

Well looking at the wood and then seeing my pics mad me realize that my crappy photography skills did no justice to the woods I picked. On the other hand, I visited one "in the oven" and DFD snapped a pic while I was holding the maple in my hands :)

I got some other crappy pics of tops I picked, but, there is no justice here compared to in-person, they are all as nice or nicer than the one above, the sparkle couldn't be captured by my phone camera, and the wetting agent had dried a lot by the time I thought to take photos:

The maple available was unbelievable, there was probably another 20-30 tops I would have been just as happy with. The real surprise - I went thinking I was going to get some brazilian fretboards, and didn't choose any. I found some captivating East indian Rosewood that was as black and smooth as African Blackwood and couldn't leave it behind. Throw in some matching headstock veneers , sinker necks and african ribbon stripe backs and it was a done deal.
