Hey guys,

I just picked up my first PRS today. It is a beautiful 1998 Mccarty. I really do not know too much about her but I am eager to learn. I was just wanted to make sure what to use to clean her up. I was going to pick a tube of flitz metal polish to shine up the hardware and pickups. For the fretboard I have some dunlop conditioner and I will use a sheet of gorgomyte to shine up the frets. I am not sure what the finish is on her so I am not sure which polish is safe.
Also should it have a MODCAT sticker under the bridge pickup?
Pics to follow when I get home from work.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, it's state law, man - gotta have pictures!

Congrats, and welcome aboard!

Welcome!

I'm pretty sure it's a poly finish, so you should be fine using plain old guitar polish on it.

Thanks guys,
I have not had time yet to really do anything but plug it in. I forgot how dark sounding it is. Much darker than my Les Paul. Feels great though. Can't wait to clean hear up and put new strings on.
I do have a body shot but it says I cannot post attachments. :(
