I'm looking at grabbing another S2 Standard....the dealer has both Vintage Mahogany and White guitars...curious what your guys preference would be on a solid....I simply cant decide....is white too 80s?? is Mahogany too furniture like??

I'd go vintage mahogany only because I doubt I'd be able to keep white clean. That said, white has a very useful characteristic -- it can be any colour just by putting it under coloured lights.

You choose.

First thing that always come to mind when I see a white guitar is Hendrix. And, I loved the 80s!

I would go white, all other things about these 2 guitars being equal.
But given the choice, transparent red would be my pick.
You are correct in stating that mahogany looks too much like furniture. It just looks bland and boring to me. ymmv
As mentioned with white, it might fade or be harder to keep clean, but I have one white guitar and love it, but it ain't no S2.

Thx guys, yeah I was doing research last nite and I found the Vintage Mahogany looked almost purple in a way, not my cup of tea....I am grabbing the white one as soon as they open!!

My S2 Singlecut Standard is Vintage Mahogany. It has that dark brown look of a 70's SG. I dig it; understated and fits the vibe of the guitar.

White guitars can look great on stage, though.

I'd go with white. White can take on several different colors when played under different colored lights (i.e. stage lights).

Plus it just looks classy.

Well I officially purchased a Vintage Mahogany S2 standard 22 today from Daves....traded in some other stuff and it will arrive after the first of the year...very excited! they took pics for me and it looks beautiful...
