Finally got some proper pics of my '95 Custom 24 10-top!!!!

I finally had some time this afternoon to take some decent photos of my Purple PRS.

The first time I tried, I was unsuccessful and the pics just didn't showcase the top properly.

Today I succeeded,but in the process I encountered something that was puzzling to me.

The color in regular indoor light is definitely a dark purple.

Under the South Texan sun, the color comes off more of a magenta like color.

I don't know if the sun gets inside the shadows and showcases the underlying color or what, but it's
just kinda weird.

Anyway, I really like the color of this amazing guitar.

Beautiful guitar! What you're describing is metamerism...where things look different under different light. That's why I have to use color corrected lights in my operatory.

I guess the Texas sun does play tricks with pictures.

This is actually my Purple Custom 24 and the bridge is actually a chrome .

Looking at it you'd think it was a red top with gold hardware.

Go figure.

Whether is looks Red or Purple or Gold or Chrome, the color doesn't really matter.

If it looks, plays, and sounds great, that's what's important.

This guitar checks all the boxes, so I'm a happy camper.

Good thing it wasn't windy out yesterday or I could've been sorry I staged the pic that way.
