Previous owner glued a wood block to prevent the trem from being pulled up. I bought this guitar 6 years ago on Ebay and didn't play much until getting into my house this past summer (lived in an apartment for years and played unplugged). The bridge was flush with the body but the action was low; I never bothered looking closer until last night.
Removed the shim block with less-than precision tools (this CE was a player's guit before I found it), set up the trem following John Mann's youtube vid ( https://youtu.be/cHA_xu844Rs ), and the result was like taking a blanket off the guitar. NOW it resonates . Next step will be to replace the Ice Bucker pups with the original HFS/VB that came with it.
