Three separate posts. One wrap up, and then one for pics of each guitar.

Two projects, at long last, completed! You may remember both of these. The first started a year ago, and the second in October. The gory origination stories can be found here:

http://forums.prsguitars.com/threads/the-somebody-buy-me-this-project-guitar.14988/

and here:

http://forums.prsguitars.com/threads/oops-i-did-it-again.15478/

In a nutshell, I have Sergio to thank for both of these since it was his "Somebody Buy Me This" thread that got it all started. And then he spouts this pearl of wisdom: "You know what's better than a project? Two!" Thanks bro! Love you!

Here's where we ended up:
"Somebody Buy Me This"

- 1988 Red CE24 body refinished in Black Cherry Metallic and Gold Leaf by Mark Daniels at Psychotic Air (psychoticair.com) in Batavia, IL. Black pickup rings were also painted Black Cherry Metallic

- Neck is from Ed Roman guitars. Maple with no inlays. Black dot side markers. Bone nut. Medium EVO gold fret wire.

- Bare Knuckle pickups. Holy Diver in the bridge and Mule in the neck. Burnt chrome covers.

- Truss rod cover/headstock art is from Cliff at Shark Inlay. A really great guy, and a former BaM member. He does some great work. http://sharkinlay.com/

- Gold 2000 NOS Tremolo from the Mann himself. John makes some great products, and he and Roxanne are a real pleasure to deal with.

- Custom made brass neck plate from Killer Guitar Components in Glouster, MA. Special thanks to Sandy for taking the time to deal with me on the measurements and creating something they hadn't done before. http://www.killerguitarcomponents.com/

- Phase III tuners, tone (push/pull) and volume pot, 3 way switch, amber lamp shades, gold jack, gold strap knobs, trem cover, electronics cover and pick up rings are all PRS and came from John Mann.

"Oops! I did it again"

- 2003 CE24 body in salmon with binding. A couple of smalls dings, but no gouges or chips. Before it got to my hot little hands I had planned on another refinish. However, once I saw the salmon in person I decided to keep it that way. It comes across as more red than it is in pictures. In person it's has a nice pink to it.

- AAA Birdseye maple neck with skull & crossbones inlays and gold medium EVO frets from Dave Bunker at Bunker Guitars in Utah. It's his Sustainium Tension Free Neck with a titanium rod. A little history on his necks is here:

http://www.bunkerguitars.com/necks/how-the-sustainium-tension-free-neck-system-works.html

The neck was a seriously long wait. When I ordered it last August he quoted 90 days. It turned out to be 11 months. I remained patient because he seemed like such a nice guy, and he was going through a business move and health issues (his wife). After seeing the finished product, it was worth the wait. I'm glad I didn't lose my temper with him.

- Lollar Single Coil for Humbucker pickups. I wanted to do something different with respect to pickups. I stumbled across this video and was sold.

- Gold 2000 NOS Tremolo from John Mann.

- Custom made brass neck plate from Killer Guitar Components. http://www.killerguitarcomponents.com/

- Phase III tuners, tone and volume pot, 3 way switch, gold jack, gold strap knobs, trem cover, electronics cover and pick up rings are all PRS and came from John Mann.

- Skull Volume and Tone knobs are from some Chinese place on Amazon.

It was a long process, but well worth it. Lots of fun, and frustration, along the way. I would definitely do it again, and again....

Great work!!! Hard to pick out one thing, but I do love the skull and crossbone inlays.

Congrats!!

Damn, son, those came out GREAT!

...and it's funny that you showed a picture of three Bareknuckle boxes, I just received three, myself, and gave them to the shop to swap out (Black Dog 7, Aftermath 7, and Juggernaut 7). Literally yesterday.
