Just curious, what is your favorite guitar floor stand. I'm just using the El Cheapo aluminum stand from Guitar Center. It is adequate and does the job (and I do not actually need a different one)...but I wouldn't mind having something a little nicer looking. Suggestions?

Mine is a custom job, handmade by SOTM. It’s one of those folding A frames made out of mahogany. I got it off eBay from the guy who makes them. Really nice wooden stand with felt cushions for about the same price as the mass produced A frames from the big box stores. I like it because it works equally well for both electric and acoustic guitars and folds up out of the way when not in use :)

Zither Stands. A hardwood stand, made right here in Texas, USA. Uses the rock solid String Swing hanger, and costs only $99 for the red oak model. Other woods including mahogany, cherry, maple, padauk, walnut, and purleheart are available for $149-199 each.

It’s furniture... beautiful, functional, strong.

Zither makes nice stuff. Don't have any product, but I've looked before. If I used a floor stand, I would order from them.

I received my first one as a gift from my wife, who saw me looking at them forlornly a few weeks before my last birthday. Good woman :) Once I saw how well it was made, I knew I’d be adding a few more! It turns out they are made just over 100 miles from where I live.

I've seen those. Kind of what got me thinking about getting a fancy stand.

Hercules...all the way...but all single stands (currently, 4), But NO doubles or triples...I've heard/seen horror stories about balance issues.
(Also, because it directly relates to this thread...we have 2 dogs and 2 cats)

I have a double and a triple Hercules. I've never had an issue with balance. I suppose if you don't spread the legs out far enough it could be a problem but that's easily addressed by spreading the legs out.

Rick,

Zither products are actually a decent piece of folk art furniture, and at a good price, ($99 for a guitar stand) as well. If I had more space in my room to accommodate these, I'd be owning these...thanks for the link...
