My DGT came factory set up with 10's, anybody else have this happen? I thought all of them came with 11's. Also, are all guitars 2010 and later coming with the v12 finish?

Mine came with 11s but I changed to 10s,feels better to me.Removed one tremolo spring,5 springs felt too stiff for 10s.

All of my DGT's came set up with 11's, but my oldest one is a '13 fwiw.

Thanks to the DGT, I play 11's on all of my electrics now - even my Strat and Tele. Love the tone, tuning stability, and feel.

Yeah, baby. What a difference. My DGT got me loving the .011s. Such an improvement in tone. Amazing.

Nope, mine came with 11s. It feels great and sounds great with them. The DGT makes 11s feel like a whole gauge lighter. I just got my Strat back from the shop and had them put 10s on it while they were doing the setup. I'm not sure I like my Strat with 10s, feels stiff. So funny that a guitar with 11s feels just right where another with 10s feels wrong and I want the 9s back.

I run 10's on all my guitars. Strat at 25,5 and Bernie at 24.5. The Bernie feels slightly looser but not enough to make any difference when I swap between them. Played other Strats where 10's would be too stiff!

I use 10s on my DGT simply because I am so used to 10s. Plus I usually buy a bulk pack of 10s; no need to get single 11s!

I'm guilty of the same thing. :top:

Depending where you bought it, it's possible that you got it with 10s if the dealer restrung it not knowing it had 11s from the factory. Otherwise, as I understand it, unless a PS, they come with 11s. And that's a good thing!

The PRS hang tag said it was strung with 10's. Now the guitar is used and might have 11's on it now, I just need to measure them.

They all come with 11s. The hang tag is mistaken (Ive seen the same thing brand new out of the box more than once).

If you own a used DGT which came with lighter strings and are afraid to try .011's, don't be. The modified 6100 frets, the neck, and a factory spec setup will make you feel like you're playing .010's, but the tone is a vast improvement over what you'll get with anything less than .011's. And I recommend the PRS branded DGT strings. I can't imagine using a smaller gauge set of strings on my DGT. It's a monster compared to my other PRSi.
