Has anyone else seen this the last few days also on Facebook (possible other sites), a massive run on ads claiming their music store or instrument supply warehouse needs to declaim bankruptcy and must liquidate their high end guitar inventory.? Remember less than $100 for high end instruments!!!!

People make me sick.

Yeah they’re getting taken down pretty fast but I guess the scammers figure we’ll think some store is going out of business.

What on earth can you filter through canned meat? Paper towels in place of coffee filters, maybe, but canned meat?

Oh, wait, I see what you mean now...

:p

And FB is full of spam all the time - I regularly get those "Ray-bans for $20 sale!" scam ads, for some reason.

The truth is, FB is filled with inaccuracies. What you read is full of written and published material that is mostly people sharing their own opinions, humor and lives. The scammers (read: hackers) are the ones promulgating inaccurate content so as to steal your money. The hackers are the folks who take advantage of an opportunity when it presents itself, or they bait a hook in order for you to be taken in by their deception.

What they want is your dollar. How you choose to consider what is more important to you is, the dollar, or perhaps your life, if perhaps you were really a victim of crime. Hmm. Sounds like an old Eagles tune...

Many have said, it's how you use your eyes and ears to be alert to such deception that will protect both your family and your assets.

The real question is, what do you print or read that you consider accurate material?

I prefer to observe from a distance where I can see things. Folks gotta remember if you get too close, you dance, yes? And, like my brother-in-law, Phil, I can't dance.

I don't think that anybody believes them haha. I have to admit that Facebook is full of scammers. Especially if you are trying to buy or sell something. Some people think that they can do whatever they want because everybody is stupid except them. I have thought about opening a resell website and have a system like covery.ai in order to make sure that everyone is going to have a safe transaction. It's crucial for me to have that in mind when I am ordering something online. I don't want my money to be gone without having the possibility of getting them back

I stayed off FB for a while, but recently found the marketplace much more productive than craigslist or offerup. Not sure about high end stuff, but been buying and selling fishing/boating/diving stuff

The problem with those ads, is once you click on one, FB sees that you are interested in that kind of thing. So they flood your feed with those ads. FB has also linked into your web browser and they can generate ads based on your viewing habits. There is a way to shut down ads you don't want to see, but they come back eventually.
