I'm on the express elevator to hell...I have no illusions about that. But had to do it.

I have been Zach Attacked! I directly attribute this forum, and my aforementioned and infamous lack of impulse control, to this purchase. Reading all of the raves, seeing the pics, following Corey's story...it all became too much.

A shout out to The Mann himself from Bedford, NH for making this happen. Since my camera, lighting, and background all kinda suck, I'll include the original beauty shots:

Not quite "following one's private stock" but here is an action shot of John in the process of installing a new core nut and setting her up for .10s:

For those of you who have not had the pleasure, John is a really cool guy and great to work with - and The Mann knows how to set up a guitar...

This is a phenomenal guitar, and has to rise to the head of the SE class in terms of sound and feel. I love the non-lacquered neck - it has me thinking about doing that to my other SEs...and the hollowness definitely comes through, especially clean. I was worried that this would be redundant with my Akesson (same pickups, scale length, materials (except fretboard)), and although the sonic differences are more subtle than I would have expected, these are definitely two different animals.

I have much more time to spend with this one, but so far extremely pleased. I have been spending alot of time with my HBII and my Hamer Artist Custom Semi lately, so I am psyched that I now have a humbucker-equipped semi that I can actually take out without the fear of lugging something that is multi-thousands of dollars and not easily replaceable...

Very nice Carl.
I know what you mean by the non lacquered neck.

Enjoy that NGD!
I am about to go pick mine up off the wall and give it some time.

Did you order those tuners yet like mine?

wow. the flame! wow. and that trampas green doesn't so look so trampas green! very unique. awesome

Congrats! I totally get the "giving in" feeling. It's easy to see why you did for this one.

A great specimen you have there,
have I not got my AP 513 a couple of months ago (draining my treasury),this model would be on the way
have the world away to me,ah well... maybe in the near future I'll get a single cut beauty like yours
oh I'm green with envy...
Congrats, stellar SE for sure...Enjoy

Thats purdy. I was telling a friend who dislikes PRS like i used to how i just discovered the goodness of the PRS SE line and he went to the PRS site to look at them and the Zach was the one he found that he liked.

I have been in the company of a few tramps in my days, and can say that their posteriors were neither so green nor so finely formed ;)

The color looks great, hard to tell how it compares to others since all wood is different, but overall the photos of the ZMs on the web look slightly more of a blue/gray green than some of he PS photos. It's actually really really great in-person.

Two other quick things: for a semi-hollow, she's still got a fair amount of substance to her (7lbs 11.6oz) which I like. The HBII STILL freaks me out how light it is. And, I guess I assumed that the PRS Adjustable Stoptail was the same TonePros AVT-II that came on my Akesson, but it is indeed a different bridge. Very cool.
