I have an opportunity to get a 509 WL and am interested in the forums thoughts. I have one of the Experience ME V guitars and absolutely love it. The 509 has an ash back, maple neck and maple fretboard. Do you think the tones of the 509 are going to cover similar tonal ground? Thanks!
Having both, I would say that they are different enough to own both. Especially with the wood combo on the 509. The 509 is brighter, with a little more snap. Better single coil sounds, too.
Thanks for the feedback. Having both you should have the ultimate feedback to consider. I’m going to make the move.
I’ve got a Brent Mason which has the same scale length, maple neck and fretboard and has the same middle pickup and its awesome... I’m thinking the 509 is going to be just as awesome ... go for it
Out of interest..how do you folks think the glued in neck on the 509 vs the bolt on neck on my BM impacts on the sound ?
I wondered if that would be the case... but maybe tamed a little by the Korina body...Everyone should have a BM signature ..
