Good question, I don't know much about the multi-tap system, but there is some info in the PRS book (Google "PRS multitap") which suggests each pickup has a tap wire which allows for some different voicings. Are they also set up like the 408s such that there isn't a huge level differential when you split the coils?
Thanks for posting that link. Yeah, it's gotta be, they're specifying the pickups as '85/15 Multi-tap Treble' as opposed to just '85/15 Treble' as they are shown elsewhere.Good question, I don't know much about the multi-tap system, but there is some info in the PRS book (Google "PRS multitap") which suggests each pickup has a tap wire which allows for some different voicings.
This is also up on the PRS site:

Do it!Must....restrain...fists...of....dollars....
I've been convinced for a while that the only thing PRS that I need is a set of 85/15's; there is no reason to get a guitare just for the pickups.... until now...
Damn, that configuration is rather inviting...
