So I decided I wanted to play the drums, so I bought some, lol. Started lessons last week, and now I have a bet with my girlfriend that I can get it down in 6 weeks, she doesn't think I can do it. Suppose we'll find out

I went electric to try and keep the anger down at my obnoxious playing.

Bangin'!

The thing I miss most about not having a sound-proofed room anymore is not being able to play my drums. They're good for your soul.

So when do you start delivering pizzas? :vroam:

Drums are cool - I played drums in high school band, until I realized I hated most of the other kids in the drum section. As far as a kit goes, if I could play only the high hat or the kick, I'd be okay, but to put both of them in just seems to short-circuit something. I'm okay with a basic beat using both, but that's about it. Fortunately, there's MIDI, so I can play those bits independently. But in my mind, I'm a combination of Neil Peart, Marco Minneman and Keith Moon. It's just too bad you can't hear what's in my mind (well, other than the voices...).

I have a Roland TD6 kit in my music room. I enjoy drumming. I learned drums before guitar.

Congrats! I believe my drummer has the same rig. We send beats and riffs back and forth since jam time together is in short supply. TONS of fun.

Yep, another drummer here. Started in grade school and have played all this time. Started guitar about six years ago and enjoy both. ENJOY!!!

Thanks all, been really trying to get my grip proper, my left hand doesn't like corporations though, lol. Suppose I should have told my instructor to just teach me songs instead of starting with the fundamentals, lol. I'll get it though, bought a little 6" practice pad though that I've been carrying around with me and annoying people with

Awesome! Get that frustration out.
Plus you fill in that overall musical gap.

That's the idea, don't like beating on my guitars, and can't beat the kids, so I'll just tear these up

Oh yeah, guess I should start doing that, lol, don't know if tips will pay for the gas in the Raptor though, lol

You can also get that frustration out by running on that treadmill I see on the left side of the picture:biggrin:

Yeah, but the drums can be a whole body workout and make me smile, where as the treadmill just makes me feel like crap and frown, lol.

Love drums! I've played drums about twice as long as guitar but unfortunately, apartment living isn't exactly best for drumming and I can't get along with electronic sets. Best of luck to ya in your endeavors!

Daleks rule since 1963!!

Not being a name dropper but Dr.Who is made in my city and they even have a Dr.Who exhibition with all the cool props n'stuff.

There's a massive marathon going on BBCA right now. Too much to watch for me this weekend!

It's awesome that you're learning another instrument!

For me the world is keys and guitars. I am far too uncoordinated to play the drums.

I thought the same thing, but having a really good teacher is making it easier. Week 2 and I can already do more than I have my entire life when I'd attempt to do anything on a set, lol.
