and how about Maylee and George Fuller on Saturday Night!! She knocked it out of the Park! And GEO, broke a B string on the second measure and still nailed it!!!
i must say DG was awesome as usual and that new amp is The BOMB!!
Texas was well represented musically!!!

Since I missed most of the music during the show, Davy Knowles was kind enough to play a tribute to Mark Knopfler for me and a small group of folks at the hotel bar. Davy is a gem of a human being!

I love watching the Granger brothers. doesn't matter who they're playing with. I'd be happy just watching them jam for 2 straight hours.
I really enjoyed the Hendrix collaboration, like Rob - I love the Grangers. I actually just about shed a tear at the start of Machine Gun. I lost track of who all sat in on the various songs, but it was good. Dave is always great - I liked how his new amps sounded.

Grissom, Knowles and Lopez. I told Lance afterwards I don't know how I'd missed him to this point, but I won't make that mistake again.
I'm not a big Hendrix fan, but that set was awesome.
Martin Simpson always leaves me speechless.
Grissom's set Thursday night was great.
And there can never be enough said about what Mike Ault, Gary Grainger and Greg Grainger do at Experience.
I cast one vote for a full 90-minute Grissom/Knowles/Lopez set next year.
I'm not a big Hendrix fan, but that set was awesome.

SOJA, Grissom and the others were great.
The highlight and my favorite by far was Martin Simpson. What he can do with (just) an acoustic guitar and the percussive effects he works in are awesome. What a great story teller. I was looking forward to hearing him play selections off his new CD and wasn't dissapointed. I think I teared up a bit near the end of "Jackie and Murphy". He's also quite a nice guy to talk to. You never see most of the artists mingling among the common folk but Martin was out in the crowd a lot and if he minded being stopped for a chat, you couldn't tell.

My son and I always circle the two Daves (Knowles and Grissom) when the schedule arrives...and Brent Mason floored me again. Would love for those three to remain staples for each Experience. Speaking of staples, the Graingers and Mike Ault really are the most talented guys I've ever watched, as they fit perfectly with every guest!!! Martin Simpson tells great stories within his music and Lance Lopez was pretty smokin' too...BUT...Rhonda was freakin awesome!!! Get her back, for sure!!!! Now I gotta get a GG5...@#$%^#$%^&%^&!!!!
BTW...would love for the guests to sell their music (CDs) at the Experience...I guess thats a PITA because very few do that...????

It's been hit or miss - I've picked up stuff from Johnny Hiland, Grissom, Electric Mary and Tony McManus at Experience. Tremonti and SOJA are the only two I can think of who had what I'd call a dedicated merch tent. JJ Grey had CDs for sale this year, and Bernie Marsden has had them in the past. But I'd love to see a more concerted effort to push the artists' music there - I'd imagine they'd get a bigger cut than if we were forced to Amazon or elsewhere.

Simon McBride had a few cd's Saturday after his acoustics set but ran out while my wife was in line for one and an autograph.
