Saw this in a Vintage Guitar e-mail. Thought it might be helpful for some.

Do you need put on a special costume to play metal, or is anyone who wants to allowed to do it?

Like, could an all-dentist or lawyer band in business suits be a metal band after work without having to change into black leather and chains?

'Cause I have these friends...

"You forgot to mention an all-doctor band."

"I think metal would violate their Hippocratic oath."

A very wise man wrote these lyrics many years ago...

It doesn't matters how you wear your hair
It's what inside your head
United Forces stand for all strong and fair
Black, white and yellow and red

I mastered a few metal albums for indie bands in the late 80s/early 90s. A few songs have stuck with me, including one that was about making a salad. A quick breakdown:

Riff, with lyrics.
"I need lettuce. I get the lettuce. I put it in the shopping cart."
"I need tomatoes. I get tomatoes. I put them in the shopping cart."
(Etc. Ingredients varied by verse).
Chorus, double time:
"I'm making salad! I'm making salad!" (Etc, with occasional expletives).

You can do it all the ways. Some of the best can pull it off in blue jeans and a T-Shirt. But there's also stuff like this:
