Very cool. To be honest I've never been interested in EQD pedals before because they were mostly too off the beaten path but this one is something I'd dig. I dig Tube Screamer type pedals with the mid scooped "smiley face" EQ amps I play (Blackface). Adds that mids back in.

Back when I first started, all pedals were off the beaten path. ;)

I remember being happily freaked out by my first Maestro fuzz box. It was just so crazy sounding! Same with that Vox Clyde wah.

Off the beaten path is a good thing!

Yeah. I'm just into mainstream classic rock and mainstream tones. I never was into experimental stuff or progresssive rock. I was more into straightahead rock tones. I never dug the whole ambient P&W thing or the Edge dotted eigth thing either. I was just more into the sounds coming off of Stones records or AC/DC records than Pink Floyd or Yes for example. And I'm not a songwriter so that's another thing. My niche was being a jukebox of sorts and a sideman and cover band guy replicating stuff already done rather than creating new sounds. I just couldn't get into songwriting - wish I could. My knack isn't improv.

For me when I think of pedals I think of tubescreamers, wahs, tonebenders, fuzz faces, mxr phase 90s, dyna comps, etc etc as far as classic pedals. Not so much "out there" fuzztones or choppy sounds or white noise. Just like ZVex. I love his SHO, Super Duper, and Box Of Rock pedals but most of his stuff just isn't usable to me.

I'm just a classic rock purist. The difference is I like clean Blackface amps and Marshall in a box type pedals rather than plugging into a Marshall type amp with a cord and a wah.... So I have a slightly modern approach. Mostly because of my heavy interest in modern day Nashville the tones they get. I get a lot of pedal ideas from guys like Tom Bukovac, Kenny Greenberg, etc etc etc as I really dig the throwback to the classic recordings with modern cool pedals designed to cop those tones with less noise, more stability etc. Same with PRS guitars. I dig that I can cop those classic tones but with modern playability and craftsmanship.

But hey I'm weird! LOL.
