Eagles

What can you say, good music has a long life. That's a good thing. :)

This bothers me.

Thriller is:
1. A better group of songs
2. A real album, not a 'best of'
3. More influential musically
4. Better to dance to
5. Much less yacht evoking
6. The source of the greatest video ever
7. Home to an EVH solo
8. Something you can find a track to play for almost any crowd or situation and people will dig it
9. Fashion influence
10. Album cover fold out has 100% more baby tigers

Nice comeback!
That being said, this old fart is more into Eagles.
But your points score validity!

I understand point #2, but I think it’s interesting to note that #3 best selling album of all time is Hotel California. That’s pretty amazing to have both #1 and #3 (a “real album”).

As to point 5, though, Toto is the Van Halen of yacht music, and those guys are all over the Thriller record. ;)

Dude, f@ck these guys who are gonna dispute you, you know I got your back.

Edit: I'm slightly tipsy, so my use of expletives isn't really to be taken too seriously, but seriously enough.

I have to agree with almost everything you said there, pretty dead on. ;)
The only one I can question is #1.
It's a way more diverse collection that's for sure, and one or two of the tunes on there I consider head & shoulders above the Eagles hits, but for me there are a couple real stinkers in there too. PYT is pretty annoying at this point, and The Girl is Mine is downright cringeworthy for me, even with Paul.

It's all a taste thing, we all have our different, U know.
I'm not really into the Eagles but it just goes to show that a collection of laid back, easy going Country Pop Rock from the 70's is pretty easy to listen to, evidently.

*Footnote- The EVH solo is a legit point .......... but ya gotta admit it's not one of his better ones, didn't even really fit the song.:p

If you like Luke shredding, check out the Toto cover of Weezer's "Hash Pipe". Weezer has been covering Toto songs, so they returned the favor.

Go to 2:29 to melt your face.

Sounds like they got Bobby Kimball back!
