Digging through the PRS website, it appears the Dustie Waring signature has gone bye-bye. I thought this model did quite well amongst the metal dudes as I saw a lot of people playing them over the years since their release. Even people outside of the metal crowd played them in different genres. Sad...

That was probably the least deserved signature ever too.
Agreed. I think it was more that the specs aligned with a market they saw, so rather than develop another axe...
The floyd...the maple board...the CE...I loved these options (even though i am not a floyd guy, I am a sucker for a maple neck)

I'm a little surprised they didn't keep the specs (or very nearly the same) and just drop his name from it. But as already said, maybe it didn't sell enough to justify it

I am pretty sure it was a limited run model (not sure it was limited to X amount of units, but how many dealers ordered during the order window) so it's over. I was very interested in the hardtail model as 24 fret hardtail PRS's are super rare but never picked one up which is a bummer since they stopped making them.

Still plenty to be found (new & used) on Reverb, at least for now

It wasn’t a “limited run” like the first run, it was a regular sig. The hard tail was a bit limited.

The normal sig went through 2 generations.

I was always mildly surprised by that model, and how many were on the market when I looked around for Floyd-bearing PRSi. I might have bought one if not for the maple fingerboard.

To have the advantages of a floating FR in terms of the wide range of up and down bendings, but the simplicity of a vintage vibrato and quick re-stringing with locking tuners only, I recommend PRS artist Simon McBride (DEEP PURPLE), who installed an Italian made VegaTrem on his PRS.
