Hi Guys,

PRS newb here from Western Australia. Well I bought my first PRS during the wee hours of last Saturday morning. I bought the guitar from an interstate seller as there are very few dealers locally holding anything that appealed to me.

Delivery was was due for TOMORROW or MONDAY with a courtesy ph call before delivery to ensure I was home. I have been watching tracking since Monday and other than pick up and at depot, no tracking action. I was thinking Monday might even be a long shot. I just logged into the carrier's tracking page and suddenly there are 20 entries and the last one says DELIVERY FAILED ? I went to my mail box and sure enough a little card was stuffed in there to ruin my day. No missed ph call and I was out for 30 mins all day ? Not happy.

There is one slight positive, it's a "I'm sure I told you about it Hon" type of purchase. So I'll be able to sneak it into the house on Monday and to the back of my closet.

I'm not saying what it is or pics till it's in hand. Looking forward to the reveal and to learning more about PRS Guitars and some of you on the forum. I'm a regular on Strat Talk and see that there are a few other members from Strat Talk hanging out here.

Disclaimer: about my wifey not knowing. I recently purchased a vintage 69 Strat in Dakota Red. Unfortunately the guitar had issues and the seller a guitar dealer decided he wouldn't go through with the sale. So while she doesn't know about my PRS, I've saved her around $3000.
Oh and she's off to Spain with her sister in a month. So we're good.

Omg always call in sick when the delivery guy is coming....I hope this was a valuable lesson lol....

Can't wait to see pics....

When I can't afford to call in sick - like for my delivery tomorrow, I have it held at the local Fedex or UPS location - I'll be picking my new addition up tomorrow at lunch or on the way home from work (and posting pics as soon as I can take them).

Best of luck with the new addition and do post pics.

Tom

Sick day is booked for tomorrow. Good thing as now I have to go and collect. Pic's will have to wait till Monday taking my boys away for a dirt bike riding weekend. Last week of school holidays over here.

I wonder if someone can tell me ? So on the hang tag under Options it says "Artist". So does this mean I have an "Artist Package" ? Seller didn't specify. any specs differing from stock in their store listing.

Thanks

And, while my S2 has been back at the factory, I went for a Robert Cray hardtail Strat which I await TODAY( just a loaded body- it gets a neck with an ebony fretboard; years ago I bought 5 of them in ebony, my favorite wood for a fretboard- about $125 dollars each, just beautiful with semi jumbo frets). So, I'll have some work to do before it plays. I'll do stainless inserts on it, if the body holes allow it. The S2 should be back home in about 2-3 weeks, I guess/hope. I hate all trems except Bigsbys- hate 'em! On my present Strat, the 6 screw "vintage" trem is fully locked down. I only play "at" blues- the S2 Singlecut is a great traditional blues guitar; both in HB mode and single coil. My first PRS - love that guitar- unusually well figured top too.

Your image isn't showing, probably because it isn't a proper link to a third-party site like Photobucket. The PRS forum doesn't support uploading pictures directly (except for Mods, I think).

Your link inside the IMG tags shows up as:

You want something like this (I used one of my pics from Photobucket):

Which looks like this when properly tagged:

Well, I just got mine delivered about 10 minutes ago. Except I told my wife about it :) Also, she was home today, but I gave her strict instructions if she were to go out, sign something with my signature, and put it on the door. But she was home this time, so now I get to play with my new toy in about 3 hours.

IRG, Rub it in........So I get the feeling your telling me that because I haven't been 100% forthcoming with the wifey that my missed delivery is a karma thing ?

Well enjoy yours my friend. I'll keep an eye out for your NGD post.

Haha, sorry to rub it in. Actually I had to sell a lower end (but very nice) Epi Les Paul over the weekend, to get the kids a new trampoline. In doing so, I told the wife I'm getting something new, finance it interest free from Sweetwater. Hell they even knocked off 10% without me asking, which I thought was nice. I'm sure it won't compare to what you're getting, the one I have waiting is a SE Clint Lowery model. I wanted something heavier, for more drop tuning stuff. Most of my guitars are all blues or rock oriented. But this one is all about the heavier stuff. We'll see how the stock pickups are, will keep them for a month or so before deciding.

Well, mine arrived and it is perfect. Of course, I have work to do before it is anything but a beautiful dark violet with vintage mint green pickguard and ivory knobs and switch. It is still a close call on inserts- I'll have to check my 10-32 thin wall supply and then set up the cradle on the drill press. I don't have a wife- just a long coat Chihuahua who is also my only audience and is my best friend. ( I'm 69 and twice divorced- I bailed both times- first time a horrible mistake which led to the second short disaster that required me to get a protective order- she wasn't crazy in the sack; take my advice and don't judge their sanity then[or yours])!!!*** He was not excited; just another loud "monster" he has to hear for an hour before he gets to sleep.. I don't use gain to protect his ears. *** the first wife forgave me for wrecking 30+ years; she is the real thing when it comes to being a true Christian- our daughter too. I am going to die soon, and that will make it easier- I have already adjusted to it. My 3 year old grandson already shows a genuine gift for music and will get some nice guitars. Because of the brain disorder I am supposed to stay out of my shop- I can't figure out what they are worried about. I have 3-4 guitars started-want to complete them. The forgiveness came before the diagnosis, so it is not pity.

Well well well... I have a tracking number for tomorrow as well and will post up a very merry NGD... Seems we all have the wife laundering thing going on... I luckily have a few friends that play so I am famous for intercepting the package, discarding the packing materials and walking through the door with it saying, "hey hon, just stopped by Bens' house on the way home from work... You believe he didn't want this old thing???"

It also helps that I have so many PRSi that she cannot keep track - and THAT ladies and gentlemen is the key to success. When you finally get to the point where they "all look the same" and there are too many, it gets much easier to add to the collection... It's the age old 'need credit to get credit' story.... :)

Happy to see another Aussie on here! Keen to see what you got, I keep an eye on the market so I wonder if I know the guitar...

Let us know how you get on with it, and of course show us the pics (when you work out how to do it!)

I'll prob be over in Freo next month for some training too, you anywhere near there?

UPS usually comes around noon here..... Figures... 3:30 and still no brown truck...

Tick toc tick toc... Grrrrr....

Damn-I'm sharing your pain- both of you, even though mine got here as scheduled and even neck hardware came today. I've had some "heartbreaking" back and forth once the first delivery was missed with UPS; especially "sign for" stuff. I got out my Leveque neck centering jig and the neck I chose from my cache lines up dead on, but too close to corners (body holes) for inserts- damn, again. It is true that with inserts, you can remove the neck for travel and it realigns perfectly. My builds are set necks, but I have assembled Fender partscasters then disassembled them and sold for "Emergency Touring Kits" providing every part for "in gig" replacement - of course they should be pre-assembled to make sure they will work in an emergency- I ask you- do that many bodies, necks and loaded pickguards break every year? I NEVER pass them off as the real thing- the neck heel and body are stamped ("not Fender assembled")-- I have only done a few- usually repairs- my new Cray Hardtail is all original Fender. My lamented PRS is my favorite guitar- soon to come home.
