Does your PRS make you a better player?

I know... technically, a shitty player is still a shitty player.

But there's something to be said for playing a nice instrument, that seems to improve your performance.
I say this, because I've found that since getting my PRS (2 weeks ago), my playing abilities have improved.

Maybe, it's because I'm playing more, maybe it's because the guitar is easier to play, maybe it's all in my head.
I don't know... I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this phenomena.

Do you feel you play better, with your PRS in hand...?

Since getting my first PRS my actual health has improved.....lol....in all seriousness I can rip on my Core and S2 guitars!! I think the 25 inch scale length agrees with me somehow...

It makes you a better player because it makes you want to play more... and playing more makes you better. A simple formula!

Completely agree. People will say "you don't need to buy more gear, you need to practice more" but sometimes new gear can give you motivation and inspiration to practice more. I know if I buy a new guitar I don't want to put it down.

Since joining the PRS camp 5 years ago, my playing has improved out of sight.
My first cu24 absolutely inspired me to learn, practise, improve and join better bands.
It's diminishing returns, but buying additional PRSi helps rejuvenation the feeling - so feel free to start looking for #2.. #3 .. #4 etc. :)

Yeah I agree, if it sounds and feels good you want more of it.

You learn new songs, new licks, new phrases.

The sky becomes bluer, the air sweeter and maybe, just maybe the lady in your life starts being nice to you!

Ok 2 outta 3 ain’t bad!

I had copy gtrs, then a LP, then a pointy gtr and now I have gone through about 14 PRs. There is NO question that I am a much better player thanks to PRS. I could be happy with just my #1.

The best way I have found to describe it is my LP was like driving a muscle car and my PRS is like a Ferrari.

Agreed. If it makes you practice more, enjoy playing more, feel happier, whatever, all of that should help improve your playing.

Having a guitar (and amp in my case) that give me the sounds and feels I want, takes away the excuses and makes playing a joyful experience... well, after I admit that any "suck" remaining is due to me, and put in the time and effort to fix it!
