Does this serial look fake?

It looks like somebody wrote over the original SN with a gold paint pen.

If it's an original natural finish guitar, the SN would've been written in black ink below the topcoat.
 
Thanks for replies, on my 3 prsi the serial is neat and tidy and in a straight line! I guess garrett's theory is correct. So its "suss".

Does seem a little iffy, although, the rest of the headstock looks normal from what I can tell. I'd email the picture to PRS Customer Service to have them confirm.
 
What model is it?
The serial numbers are written like that from the Maryland factory and those look like SE import tuners.
Any pics of the rest of the guitar?
It does look like the original SN was written over with gold pen.

From the sanding marks around the edge and under the screw of the tuning peg, it would seem someone at some point tried to refinish the back of the headstock.
