Hey everyone. I need all you experts to fill me in on this one.

I love PRS. But I also like Fenders.

I own an Eric Clapton signature Fender Strat, complete with a maple fretboard.

Now I'm just curious here.

Does PRS manufacture electric guitars with maple fretboards?

Have they ever?

I know there's the Brent Mason signature. But I'm looking for something with the usual two-pickup combination.

Can anyone help?

Thanks guys!

Yes.

Sure. I have a Wood Library Custom 24 with a rock maple neck and fretboard. I believe it's also an option on ... most? all? ... of their core models, though you may have to go Artist Package to get it. It's also been in a few limited runs (wood library/artist package option for core prices kind of thing).

NF3s had a maple board option. They are 3-pickup guitars though, but a little different from either a traditional PRS or a Strat.

Looking up "Wood Library" instruments is probably your best bet, IMO. Lots of maple on those builds as has been mentioned...

`99 Swamp Ash Special here with crazy flame maple neck + fretboard. Will load pic later.

Some artist packs are also maple neck - you don't need to shell out for a wood library.

Most (all?) prs maple necks are a satin feel.

What is it you like about the maple necks?

Just to pile on with the affirmatives:

I own a Swamp Ash Special and a 305, both with maple neck and fretboard.

And maple fretboard is an option with any Artist Pack. From the 2016 product catalog:

ARTIST GRADE NECK WOOD:
• Artist grade figured maple
• East Indian rosewood
ARTIST GRADE FRETBOARD & VENEER:
• Figured maple (maple neck only)
• Brazilian rosewood (USA only)
So, yeah. Just not super common - for whatever reason I get the impression most PRSi manufactured follow the hog body / maple cap / hog neck / rosewood fretboard model. Presumably because that is what sells.
