Do you think the price of PRS guitars will go up in 2025?

The Core prices have increased every year since 2018... So, I will go out on a limb and say that another increase is likely. The cost of labor and materials increases each year so a manufacturing operation can cover that with price increase, operating efficiency, and/or reducing their margin (among a few other variables). I did a tour several months ago and it is packed and moving quickly, so reducing costs through efficiency may be a challenge (they are running very well). That leaves few levers.

Yes, the guitars cost a lot at every level. I still find value in both new/used, it just takes a little more time now. That is part of the fun!

I've kind of had it with all the economic controversy and the political blame game. I'm gonna watch a little football.

"Let's take another look at that play, Laz."

"The refs are having a little confab on the field. Did you see any penalties?"

"I'm not seeing anything yet, but...ah, there it is. It looks like they're gonna call offsetting penalties. Yup, and that's exactly what they're saying, Brad."

[SFX: ref switches on walkie-talkie mic: "There are two penalties on this play: Unnecessary Roughness, Economy, by #2, Pricey Goujer of the American team; and Unsportsmanlike Conduct, Dumping, by #24, Way Tooe Cheepe of the Chinese team."]

"Kind of looks like a case of 'the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away', doesn't it Laz?"

"Yeah. We pay too much for stuff made by Pricey Goujer, but the smaller Goujers of the country are suffering themselves from unsustainable competition from cheap Chinese imports."

[SFX: Ref switches on mic: "The penalties offset, play the down over."]

"Let's hear from our referee expert, Maven Knowitall."

"Yeah, it's a good call, Brad. Pricey Goujer definitely hit the ballcarrier, Bullish Economy, far out of bounds, and Way Too Cheepe clearly dumped a bunch of artificially-propped-up-government-supported stuff on #25 of the American team."

"These problems keep recurring over and over, Brad. Can't the League enact some rule changes to stop these kinds of things?"

"Nah. The owners can't agree on anything. Half of them want this, the other half want that. In the end, no one's happy. Maybe if you ran for League President, you could improve things."

"No thanks. As Tom Petty famously said, it's good to be king. Being president kinda sucks. You have to be a lunatic to even want that job."

Les... I think you might be officially losing it! ;) (or is that old news?)

Here's a suggestion for PRS... drop the prices of your instruments for 2025, making the used market less attractive price-wise, resulting in you selling more new instruments (of which you actually make money on), and thereby increasing your overall revenue.

Get Out Of Here With That Forward Thinking Common Sense Talk. If You Keep it Up, You May Say Something Like Boys Can't Have Periods And Get Pregnant, Etc. And We Certainly Can't Have That... 😂

Long Term, The Pricing On All Things Will Be Coming Down. I Wish I Had The Exact Date But It Is Coming Sooner Than We Probably Suspect But Not As Fast As We Need It.

Sit Tight On This Post And See How It Ages...That Is All I Can Say. :)

There might be some price increases and I believe some will stand pat , new models will likely break new ground price wise with some existing models holding there ground and of course not paying list price is the best way to save money , contact that dealer :)
