I have dry fingers and dropping or slipping picks from my digits has been a problem. I tried a few things to remedy it, keeping fingers moist (no licking fingers during corona pandemic), sticky stuff on picks (dirt sticks to them too), pieces of adhesive back sandpaper (grit that can fall off near a PRS finish?), and the pre-fab ones you can order (meh).

So I bought a roll of that Nexcare tape for a hand injury and noticed the rubbery/tacky texture of the non adhesive side and put 2 & 2 together, and the results are more than positive. Game over, when you're like me and spend too much on expensive picks & don't want to loose them.

YMMV

Get some of those little nickle sized velcro "dots". I cut each one in half for my perfect size and the adhesive holds it in place perfectly with no muss or fuss. The harder size works better than the "fuzzy" side for me.....I never drop them.

For at least as long as I can remember, I've used one pick style. Dunlop Gray nylon .73 with a grip surface. I drop them now and then in a bout of Budweiseritis, but all in all, they stay put and the ribbed section for holding the pick sounds strange when strummed with that side. I have to use the old ones though for that, as the new ones tend to "brake" the strum and get caught a bit. I've never been one for fancy picks of different materials. Just me and my wallet. ;-)

Cool trick! I have issues with slipping picks too and I’ve found that ultex picks work best for me and grip really good.
