Do I really need a PRS Studio guitar?

A call was made between meetings. A deal was struck and a charge was put on my credit card... I will receive tracking information on the guitar today. Here is what is coming my way.

Thanks to all of those that enabled me. One thing to note, this is actually the one my wife picked when I showed her the first two. She picked this over the wood library version. I showed her a couple of Aquamarine versions as well and she still liked this one better. I was leaning in that direction and she solidified it.
Can’t go wrong with red.

I just picked up a wood library 2 weeks ago. Terrified maple neck (satin finished) with Brazilian board. My 2 cents is go mahogany if you don't own a few other mahogany PRS Guitars. I went maple for the pop and more stratty tone and feel. I really like it. Just know it does have a bit of different feel, attack, and tone. Makes an exceptionally clean and articulate guitar feel even more so. Maybe too surgical for some tastes. The DGT is a smoke machine by comparison (to this particular guitar). Almost like a strat to an LP.

Do you abuse the necks on your guitars? I ask because I have never known a neck to be Terrified! My thoughts and prayers are with that maple!!

I went with the mahogany neck. I wanted the wood library with the torrified flame maple neck and Brazilian fretboard but I just couldn't justify $1400 more just for that. I have mahogany necks on most of my PRS guitars so I know what I am getting into there. I also have a couple with maple necks on them as well as another brand of guitar that is mahogany body with a maple top and maple necks with rosewood board. I would expect a similar tone as that guitar has with the wood library version.

Congrats on your killer Fire Red Fire Burst! I got one in Antique White a few months back. Such a pleasure to play, and the tones it delivers are great. But like a strat, the 2&4 positions have the treble/brightness dropoff. I compensate for that by using my Keeley compressor, with a boost in the tone control setting, when in 2 or 4. If you happen to play any funk, 2 is the ticket! The Keeley brings back the treble and brightness. It is terrific as such! The other postions are great too. The hb is great with an overdrive for leads. Enjoy yours, man!

I'd post pics but I'm a spaz and can't figure it out
Here is a link to some tutorials, as well as links to other tutorials, on the topic of posting pix here at the PRS Forum! It's not rocket science, but you do need to use a 3rd party to host your pix, and then point to them from here!

If you can't figure it out, feel free to PM me and I will help, terrified as I may be of you and your stranglehold!!!

That’s literally on fire!
superduper delicious!

Called a few more places to get discounted prices. This is getting interesting. I have two that gave me a pretty good discount. One is Fire Red Burst and the other is Aquamarine, both 10 tops. I can get one for $1400 less than the wood library I am looking at. Man, that really has become a contender. I like the idea of the wood library but I am not sure it justifies the additional money.
Depends on whether you’ll look at it more than play it.

When you get it, I think you’ll be really surprised when you turn the volume down on the narrow fields. Just a couple notches on the volume control changes the pickup sound. Before I got a swamp ash nf3, it was full volume all the time. I’m just starting to use the volume control on PRS to maximize sounds.

So I noticed the Narrowfields have gold or brass pole pieces. Is it just a plating or something else?
