I drank the PRS kool aid, and it was tasty!
After 6 months of twiddling, I finally got my SE soapbar to sound like a killer P-90 guitar. The trick was Dimarzio Virtual P-90 pickups, a Fender TBX tone control, and an RS masterworks 500K+ volume control. The 3 way and output jack were also changed to CTS to complete the American parts swap. What makes these pickups so special is that they`re low output like vintage, and most importantly-TUNABLE! That`s right, tunable. The standard setting when they were put in was crapola. After a couple of hours of diddling, I found the sweet spots. If you`re not happy with your p-90`s, consider this option. No sounds samples, no means to do it. Sorry
