Hi all,

I really like my Zach Myers SE... I've changed the pickups to a set of PAF 36th Anniversaries and the neck one is great but I can't bond with the bridge pu. I feel it's too thin, trebly and lacks "balls". I've also experienced that the set its not well balanced. The neck pu volume overwhelms the bridge unless I set it very high against the strings with the neck pu almost buried in the pu ring.

I'm committed to love everything in this guitar and make it work. So I've decided to try another pickup.

I'm leaning towards the Dimarzio Norton with nickel covers. More output with a more modern feel than a paf, increased mids and low to tighten the sound.

So im guessing if anybody have experience with this model and would be glad to hear any input.

Thanks

Well, I instaled the Norton to replace the PAF 36th...

Is too soon but I can say that the volume is more balanced with the 36th neck and The Norton now sits to a more usual diastance from strings. Its also more beefy and modern sounding... I´m liking it.

Consider the new Alnico Grande Raihammers.
i've had Duncan's. EMG's and Fishman Fluences in an ESP/LTD EC1000 and of all the pickups I tried the Railhammers sound and feel the best by far.

Just now seeing this, but I was considering a set of 36th for one of my guitars, and your comments are the first of that type that I have seen. (thin bridge pickup, lack of balance between the two). The guy at one of my PRS dealers has 36th pickups in an older PRS. Maybe I'll check his guitar out and see if I notice these issues.
