I've been considering adding a new member to the PRSi family. But only one. So, opinions are solicited in view of the ones I have (see my sig). What do you think? I am looking at either the Satin Black CE24 from Sweetwater or a Korina McCarty from Dave's. They are fairly close in price and I am kind of leaning toward the McCarty mostly because of the different pickups, but I just don't know.

What do you guys think? I appreciate your input.

Man, that's a tough one. I think I would probably do the Korina because it's "different". Plus, brazzy board. On the other hand, the 85/15s in the CE24 make it tough. All things considered, I'd do McCarty because it's unique. The CE24 will still be there for your next round of GAS! Either way, winner winner chicken dinner.

I would definitely go Korina. Mainly because they're not current production guitars and who knows when/if they'll come around again. They're fabulous instruments and one of the few ways left to get a Brazilian board at low cost. There will likely be more CE24's on the market and will likely be easier to come by in the future.

based on your collection, i would go with the McCarty. with two 24's in the herd already, add the Korina McCarty, unless you are planning to replace one of the SE 24's.

You guys are great! Yeah the two 24's are there, but one has 59/09's with a quilt top, and the other has covered HFS/VB (just because I don't like the zebra look) with an ebony board, so they're both keepers. So the McCarty it is. Now I just have to decide between the Black Sunburst, Tricolor Sunburst, or Vintage Burst. The Tricolor is just 7.0 lbs. Like.

I guess a teaser off their web site might be in order. I'll do better when it's in my hot little hands, which down here in South Carolina, it is HOT! Plus I've been planning a family shot which I may do before the grass gets too tall. Heh...

Those moved out the door pretty quick in the last couple of months. There were a boatload for the longest time.

Nice! Now you STILL need to add some XX/15s you know... ;)
I know, I know... it was a tough decision. That CE24 was so tempting if only because of the satin finish. But I do have the S2 Satin 22 to console myself with until such time as the XX/15 is possible. It's all about feeling, right???
