Differences between old cabs and new?

There's an old PRS Stealth 2x12 cabinet I've seen, which I would imagine has the V30 speakers in it. It is about the same price as the new smaller 2x12 cab with G12T-75 speakers. Are the newer cabinets birch plywood and the older ones pine?

The speakers are going to sound different, but other than that are there any differences, like thicker cabinet construction?

Having never seen the insides of a newer one, I can’t comment on a comparison. But the old 2x12 Stealth is pine and the Big Mouth is birch. I love my pine 2x12 like no other cab. Th old one would be my choice every time. Period.

I have both types, and Boogie is right on. The ones with the maple or other top panel are pine. The Big Mouth is birch. The newer ones are...I dunno. I don't have one of those!!
