So I'm about to give way too much information for humors sake...brace yourself :p
So I was in the bathroom yesterday paging through an old guitar world from like '94 when I came across this PRS ad with Alex Lifeson from Rush. 2-page ad, Mr. Lifeson on the left, and to the right the current lineup of PRS guitars. I noticed something odd. I don't know if it was the way that they were photo'ed back then or what, but I remember the bodies on the PRS guitars looked more rounded with these sexy friggin curves. Is it just me or am I alone in noticing that from those old ads to now? I guess I'll have to scan the ad or something to explain, but just looked different.

The latest (March '15) Guitarist article mentions that the carves have changed a little since the early days. Paul said that the early "peaks and valleys" had higher peaks and deeper valleys, and that the hand sanders had a difficult time working on them, so they made some changes in that area.

However, I don't think the outline shape of the guitar has changed (?).

There was a mention that the PS 30th CU24 run has the deeper contours and the older carve. From the pictures, it looks like the "dish" around the edge is deeper (Hanso would probably hate that and have it sanded!), but it's hard to tell about the other areas. I guess I'll find out since I have one coming!

The overall shape hasn't changed much but the contour is different.
