Hi, long time visitor and multiple PRS owner over the years. Just picked up an ‘08 DGT and noticed it didnt sound the same as a 2020 WL I played recently. Opened up the cavity and there are no resistors on the pull pot just a ground wire across both middle lugs. Also noticed the 10M resistors for the treble bleed are not installed. AND pickups appear to be wired 50’s style off the center lug.

So anyone else ever seen no resistors on the DGT? This seems to be a pretty low serial number 08 140720 wonder if they did this and then updated later. I have some 2.2k’s Im gonna add and will probably order some 10M’s cause there is no real change output wise with the volume controls..

Thanks in advance for any info!!

The resistors on the new ones are:
1.1k or bass pickup coil split
2.2 for treble pickup coil split
the 10 M are not part of the treble bleed. They act in conjunction with the volume pot to bring its overall resistance lower

I can tell you that they used different value resistors in the early DGT. If I remember correctly, mine is a 2012 (I would have to pull it out to verify the year but am almost positive it is a 2012.) and I know it has 2.2k and 8.8k resistors in it. My 594 is a 2016 and it has the same value resistors in it that my DGT has.

Well the diagrams on PRS’s website show 1.1k and 2.2k , had a couple and installed them today. Sounds so much better on the spilts, waiting on some 10M’s for the volume pots but sorted out the wiring and the roll off tapers are much better. I may get a .033uf cap to try as well..
