Has anything done this? Or would it be considered sacrilege and void the warranty? :)

I'm sure there are people out there using lighter strings - maybe even down to 7s.
Play what works for you. I'm sure PRS warranty is not dependent on what gauge of strings you use.

If the Reverend has a DGT, I bet he has 8's on it. You'll have to adjust the trem and you may have loose nut slots but it should work fine.

Probably won't void the warranty but yes to your question about sacrilege.

... just kidding!;)

... but seriouslyo_O

The DGT is an interesting beast , I have very limited time on one but was smitten almost at first strum I am normally a 10s guy but I did not notice the 11s the bigger frets make bending a breeze I'm sure you could do 9s but I would try the 11s for a bit or just try dropping to 10s first
