Can a DGT owner give me the height of the front and back of the tremelo measurement?

Thanks

Trem is supposed to be level to the body. I run mine 1/16-1/8 above body.

If it's not level then adjust the two screws on the spring claw in the trem cavity.

Adjust retune check, repeat if necessary.

It's supposed to be 1/16" off the body. Level, front and back, as Gush said.

How many spring are you guys running? Stock is 4 I thought, but when I had my pickups swapped yesterday at a local repair shop, he did a setup and only used 3 springs. Trem is floating, but not level. I don't think I like that.

Some techs seem to take the "I know best" approach to guitars and totally ignore what you have become accustomed to or prefer. I'd take it back and ask him to put it back to your specs. He'll only take that approach once.

Here's what I have found.

I tune to Eb and use 10-46, if I use 4 springs then spring claw has to be screwed "out" to get trem level. When I pull up on trem I can feel the springs and claw go limp then snap back as I release trem. I don't think that helps tuning stability so I use 3 springs for that reason.

If 3 springs causes your trem to not be level then simply adjust spring claw.

I like the 3 spring tension too.

Indeed! He's setting up YOUR guitar...for YOU. I'd take it back and have him return it to prior specs. Maybe scout out for another tech in the meantime if he proves to be stubborn or incapable...

Mine has 5 springs from the factory. But i have dropped to 9.5s(bad fret hand from injury).

Thanks for the measurement!

I can't seem to find a really good picture of the trem height on my DGT. It's a floater, but not by much.

I will have to measure the height of mine (avatar guitar), but it definitely floats. I always want a floating trem to add shimmer to chords, etc. My guitar has the stock/full compliment of strings, as I play an 11-52 set tuned to standard.

In fact, while I keep my trem is level to the body, stock it did not float enough for me---not enough height. None of the PRS factory specs are really what I need anyway. I have raised the bridge on all 3 of my PRS to get the float and feel I want. Easy adjustment if you know what you are doing, and I learned from some of the best. I also like pulling up on the trem at times, so there is room for that, too.

And as a BAMA grad, let me throw out a big ROLL TIDE to the OP.
