I may be purchasing a new guitar. I have a DGT SE in tobacco burst. It's a great guitar. It plays and sound fantastic. I was thinking about getting the DGT SE model in gold or should I get a Silver Sky SE in black. Let me know what you think.

The only benefit you'd get getting another DGT is then you'll be able to say you "have two DGT's." Just stick with the one, but if you are in the mood for a Strat type then at least play a Silver Sky AND some of the new Fenders just so you'll know.

I personally did not get on with the Silver Sky, and prefer my other guitars that are similar mostly for the feel, but some of it for the sound.

I was also looking at the Fender Stratocaster Player II. I want a black one and the Player II only comes with a maple fretboard. All my guitars are rosewood. Anyone have both the Fender and PRS and give me a comparison.

I wouldn’t get a second seDGT but I wouldn't get a seSS either. Too many MIM Fenders out there I prefer and vs a used MIA its a no brainer. The appeal to me for a SS is I'm a PRS guy but in my experience the seSS has been the worst QC offender for the se line. I've tried to talk myself into one for years and played hundreds but the Fenders always win the A/B. If I was set on se and S typish guitar I'd jump on a seNF3 instead.

Love my SE NF3 more than I loved my core SS's.

I went with a Fender Player II Stratocaster Limited Edition. It will arrive tomorrow. I'm going to make it a Gilmour Strat. I'm going to add a black 1-ply pickguard, short tremolo arm, 7 selector switch mod with a treble bleed, and the black cat decal that is featured on his new black Strat. All the parts should arrive by Saturday.
