I just ordered a DGT without ever trying one out.
(I know, but I can return it if we don't gel)

Just reading all the great reviews and enjoying my CU24 so much I decided to go for it.

My thoughts were:
* looking for a more vintage sounding guitar since I play a lot of classic rock & blues
* wishing the neck on my CU24 was a little bigger

So, was it a good decision?
I may not be able to keep both guitars, so I am wondering if I'll miss the Van-Halen-ish tones I can get out of my CU24 or if the DGT will fill that roll also.

Thanks

What DGT did you get standard (all mahogany ) or the one with the maple cap?

I've had mine since April 2013 . You'd be surprised the tones you'll get out of the DGT . The bridge pickup is hot too but with a vintage vibe. On mine I did swap the pickups out for the Prs m pickups but that was more to try them out....

I went with the maple top version, goldtop
Hoping I'll love the stock pickups

It will definitely be a bit more vintage than the CU24. And the neck will be larger as well (assuming your CU24 is a pattern thin).

Best guitar evaR!!!

When I had the original DGT pickups in mine, the bridge could easily do Metallica tones but would clean up really nice. I actually played a lot of jazz and blues with very little gain.

You won't be disappointed . I'll eat my socks if you are disappointed lol..that's how confident I am lol

You're on the right track for classic rock stuff. The DGT, to me, is the quintessential classic rock machine. Love my Cu24 but it's just got that modern vibe. You should love the hell out of it.

The DGT is an incredibly versatile instrument. I don't think you will be disappointed at all. The one I currently have in my stable is just awesome and I love it more each day.

What a bummer.
It was supposed to delivery yesterday. Held up in a weather dely. And the tracking for today doesn't look any better.

Have any of you DGT owners switched out the original .11 gauge strings for .10s? I'm thinking the DGT is the top candidate for my next PRS, but I find .11s in standard tuning to be a little stiff for my liking. Just wondering if the nut or setup needed much tweaking to come down a string gauge?

My DGT is set up with 9.5's and is in 1/2-step down tuning. Feels AWESOME...
