DGT Core won't stay in tune

I have a DGT core I bought earlier this year. I noticed about a month ago that the strings were going out of tune after string bends (mostly the D and G). It didn't seem like an issue when I first got the guitar. I figured it needed new strings and so i changed them (still using 11s). Stretched the strings and used big bends on the nut and saddles. But it is still doing it. I bend the strings (D and G) and it is out of tune again.

Any thoughts. I probably should just get it setup. But was wondering if anyone has a suggestion. I don't use the trem that much (mostly not at all).

If you don't use the actual DGT strings, but an ordinary .011-string set, then the wound strings cause friction in the slots. .011 sets could consist of E6 with .052, .054, or .056.

If you have the Black Composite Nut , then nut sauce will cause sticking issue from my experience.
I would first clean the nut slots
also check the collars on the tuners.
after that give the guitar a good flog , do some dive bombs and wiggles , tune up to pitch repeat your tuning will get better

The video helped a ton. Narrowed it down to the D string by pressing the strings behind the bone nut. As soon as pressed the D string behind the nut it pinged. Ran some folded sand paper lightly through the slot and that seems to have fixed the issue. Also stretched the crap out of that string.

Thanks boys/girls. Much appreciated. Thought it was a trem issue.

As a side note, PRS mentions that those six screws at the front of the trem ("knife-edge") need to be the exact same height, otherwise that could contribute to tuning instability.

Hope you get it sorted out soon-- cheers! 🍻

It isn't always the nut. My 2012 DGT which was played so much it has had one refinish and one fret job wouldn't stay in tune because the brass trem screws the use for the bridge had flattened from so much playing. They had to be replaced which fixed the issue.

Just something to store away in case you happen to exhaust all the usual suspects for tuning issues on a DGT.
