Debating on selling my CE24 standard for a DGT SE. Sway me otherwise..

As the title states. I've got a 2016 CE24 Standard in a matte finish. I've been seeing the videos of the DGT SE and I'm hearing a lot of good things.

The sounds from the DGT are more appealing to my ear. I think the only thing that makes me hesitant is the gloss neck. If you have both, I'd love to know your thoughts. Thanks!
Hi.
Have you played an SE? I’ve played one and it was nasty, IMO. Perhaps it wasn’t a good one. The CE24 is a pro guitar. The marvellous Ian Bairnson’s number 1 was a CE24, and I can’t think of a better pro player. The CE24 needs no changes to be great, but if you aren’t happy with yours, you could upgrade it. In my opinion the CE24 needs a better tremolo, and I put a Phase II in mine. If you do this, get a MannMade Trem, and I wish that I’d done that. The best thing to do is to try the SE DGT, but take your CE24 with you and compare them. If you really prefer the SE, get it. Life is too short to regret guitar decisions.

I decided against it. I AB'ed a core and se model. No clue how anyone can say they're the same. The se was fine nothing to right home about but the core model was phenomenal. The feel for me is what killed it.

In the end I'll sell it but for something else I'll use more.

Resistance is Futile .. The SE DGT was worthy enough for David to tour with it only for 3 months .. pretty strong endorsement...

Luthier tip: As far as the gloss neck, 3000 grit wet/ dry sandpaper .. go gently and just break the glaze . I just make about 20 quick passes cupping it in my hand around the neck . You aren't really trying to take much off . The advantage over scotch bright or steel wool is doesn't scratch up the finish ( if done correctly it looks just like patina) It makes them WAY faster and not sticky which down hear in Hot 'Lanta is important in the warm months
Yeah... South C. is a sweat bath, too!!! Prayers for all the peeps anywhere near where Helene went through and where Milton is headed!
Bad Hurricane year! The Gulf has produced beastly ones!

I’m very glad that you tried an SE. I’ve only tried one SE. It is a student guitar, as SE implies (Student Edition/Electric), and it was like a student guitar compared with a CE or Core. They look very pretty, but the hardware is inferior.

But he doesn’t use an SE…He uses his signature Core DGT, which is a very expensive guitar in my country, where a Custom 24 is $7,000.
