My beloved Egnater Rebel 30 head died two weeks ago after a lingering illness of meandering electronic weirdness. I liked this amp so much I ordered another one. I first called my guy at SW, but he told me all out and next ship date to them was October 3rd. And me with a brand new PRS and no amp, so I called GC and they told me they had incoming on Sep 3rd, so I placed the order.

I called the 800 number yesterday and found out it's now December 20th before they receive their shipment, and SW tells me they're in the same boat. Crap!

So, after a day of searching reviews and listening to samples on YouTube, I kind of landed on a Tone King Falcon Grande. But, at nearly $1,900 reality set it today and I just can't go that high. So .... I started the unthinkable.

I researched modeling amps, disregarded everything I came upon until I landed on the Blackstar Silverline Special, 50 watts with the 12" speaker. And, at $530, I'm saving almost $300 which can go towards my wife's BD present. Ah, to be single and short-sighted, I'd own the Tone King, or even my dream amp, the Dr Z Nova.

XJBeBop, you said in another thread you own one. Without comparing a high-end boutique amp to the Blackstar, what are the things you really like about the tones and flexibility, and then what don't you like about it? And, can I balance the volume and master volume, preserve the tone, and get down to bedroom levels? Anybody else out there with a Silverline?

I never thought I'd go this route, but that Silverline sounds fine online (I know, I know) and comes loaded with everything I need, including an XLR direct out like my now defunct Egnater.
