Saturday was the first day of the Dallas Amp show, located at an Embassy Suites located near Love Field in Dallas.
Doug Sewell and Jon Croft brought a really nice selection of Amps for demo. David Grissom and Lance Lopez were both on hand to demo and answer questions. Here is the list of available Amps/Cabs if your interested..
DG50 with Matching 2 x 12
DG30 with Matching 2 x 12
HxDa 30 with Matching 1 x 12
NEW BLONDE Custom 50 2 Channel with Matching 2 x 12 (New Design, No Flame Maple Panel... Blonde Bombshell)
Archon Black/Charcoal with Matching 4 x 12 ... Boom Boom Baby!
Archon Paisley Limited Production

The show itself, very small but the PRS Room was a constant flow of enthusiast and artist wanting to check out the amps. Not only did we see some of the Dallas Locals, but a good group also showed up from Austin..
Expecting the biggest group to check out the Archon, we were all surprised how many wanted to demo the DG 30 and 50 and the HxDa! Don't get me wrong the Archons ( A Black/Charcoal and the New Paisley) with a 4x 12 Cab good plenty of action too...

In particular, Dr. Tom Van Hoose, noted Archtop Expect and Author stopped by to check out the Grissom's. He spent a great deal of time, speaking with David and wanting to know how the signature Guitars and Amps were designed and built. Dr. Van Hoose, told me how impressed he was with the sound, and quality of construction of both the guitars and instruments... I had taken a few Guitars for David to Sign, and Dr. Van Hoose left with one of those!
A New DGT convert! Most likely he will add an amp in the future too.

The Paisley Amp... only one in Texas, is STUNNING... The lighting is so bad in that room, Ill show a picture Shawn had taken last week but we will get more next week in the store if it doesn't sell today. Jon Croft has advised I can take orders today, as there is only a limited number going to be produced..

Here is a couple pics of the Blonde Bombshell Custom 2 Channel 50... Sorry again the lighting is horrible...

Starts again this morning at 10 CST, so if your interested or have questions for Doug, Jon or myself please call or text!
Wish you guys were here, its a BLAST!

Do not Confuse the 2 Channel Custom 50 with a 2 Channel H.... Completely different voicing...

The PRS 2-Channel Custom 50 is a
versatile, modern amp with several features that give players ultimate versatility and musicality. Each channel features channel volume, bright switch, treble, middle, bass, and master volume controls. The lead channel also has a switchable mid-shift that will either scoop some of the midrange when “in” or act as a fat boost for that channel when pulled out. There is also a global push/pull presence control that provides a depth boost and a global push/pull reverb control. When the reverb knob is pulled the reverb will only work on the clean channel. This allows you to have global reverb engaged and be able to switch seamlessly between lead channel without reverb and clean channel with reverb (via the footswitch). The 3-button LED footswitch also has a solo boost and channel selection. The 2-Channel Custom 50 has a full effects loop and can cascade from clean to gain without losing articulation, making it a great platform for pedals. This amplifier is available as a 50 watt head or a 50 watt 1x12 closed back combo.

The HXDA...30 Watt... Matching 1 x 12 Also available

Different Tubes as the 30 are EL34s! Its all about your ears, but I like the fatter tone and at this wattage it breaks a little quicker...
Personal Preference but 30s are more the tone 60-70s Rock you'd expect and hear on the radio... Maybe Live in a BIG Arena the 50 get it done better, but I'd say 90% of the buyers are gonna dig the 30 more... just my opinion.
At the Amp show, it was interesting listening to guys demo it and play with the HxDa Switches. Id always ask which sound they prefer, and the answer was all over the board. A guy brought in a EJ Strat and was Killing it in the Hx mode, and another playing the P22 was all about the Da mode... others like it mixed. Super versatile for sure!

It's a good thing I live as far away as I do. My mind is conjuring some evil thoughts. :o
