Custom Order (Non-Private Stock)?

Hey all,

I have a 2005 CE 24 that's the best guitar I've ever played, but the color and lack of birds are not quite perfect for me. I really want to get myself a somewhat customized one. I was wondering if there was any way to do this that was not through Private Stock and not exorbitantly expense. Really, the only "special" things I want on this guitar would be the Wide Thin neck profile, ebony fretboard (which are sometimes offered) and the color (Forest Green Metallic, also sometimes offered).

The PRS PTC can and has done a TON of custom things on folks' guitars, but unfortunately they won't carve you a new neck with an ebony board and bird inlays for your CE.

Unfortunately, even if you did find the unicorn new ce-24 with the wood-library spec you want, they have a different body style that your's from 2005.

You have a pretty special guitar, I wouldn't let the cosmetic get too much in the way of that.

How bad can the color be to want to part with the best guitar you've ever played? If anything maybe get it refinished? I used to feel that way about birds but that has now wore off and actually look at some PRS because they don't have birds. Older CE are one of those guitars.

Even though it's a bolt on neck your special things wouldn't fall into the "only" category.
