I'm looking to replace the volume and push/pull tone pots and the 3 way toggle.

I've read the SE are metric and i would have to bore out bigger holes to make any new ones fit...is this true?

Are there any that will fit without doing so? Any recommendations?

thanks in advance!

Yes they are metric, yes you'd have to bore the pots out to fit imperial size ones, they're not that much bigger but just enough. It's not that hard and can be done with a hand reamer, just make sure you are super careful. Yes there are ones that fit, other metric sized ones.

put a piece of blue painters tape over the hole on the finish side to help prevent chips. Very light pressure... work slowly from both sides and test fit often. I did it on my se245 in all 5 holes, came out perfect and pretty stress free process.

I`ve replaced the pots and 3 way on all my 5 SE`s. It came out wellon all of them. Use the best pots and switches you can find, and don`t worry about the hole size. Get a good luthier to bore it out by hand.

Thanks for the replies!

Decided against changing the pots. Put a multi-meter to the alpha pots in the SE and the volume measured pretty much dead on spec and the tone was off by only 18. And the taper on the volume pot behaved nicely when lowering the volume on the multi-meter nice and smooth decrease in resistance. Now, i know why i love my SE's. Just because they are made in Korea doesn't mean it has sub par parts.

The electronics in the SE's are pretty good, IMO. I've only replaced the pots in one of mine, and that was because I've modded it several times and it was a mess in there!
