I have a few questions so I figured I would come to the official forums to see if I could get them answered.

1. The old school switching be it the 3 way toggle or 5 way rotary switch
Is there anyway short of ordering a $13,000 Private stock I can get this on a brand new custom 24?
I've seen some "wood library" models listed on some sites that have the 3 way toggle, but I assume these are part of a run that company did with PRS.

2. Neck binding.
Why doesn't PRS have this as an option on artist grade guitars?
To me a nice binding makes the guitar look elegant, especialy if it's a flame maple binding that matches the body.

3. I see there was a limited run of almost exactaly what I'm looking for in a PRS..
It was the 58/15 limited run.. but it never came in a color that really interested me, are there plans to do this type of model in the future or perhaps something like this may become a core model in respects to setup?
I think it would be a perfect fit as a "custom 24 retro" in the core line just as it does in the Private stock.

I wish I could afford the Private stock, but unfortunately It's out of my budget, so that's why I figured I would come here and ask some questions.

Thanks for reading
Steve.

"Wood Library" is your best bet here, the 3 way toggle is quite common on a lot of the wood library runs I've seen. Check with larger dealers like Willcutt, Righteous, Dave's, Brian's, Wild West etc.. The guitars will probably cost a bit more than normal production core models, but rarely as much as Artist package.

2. Neck binding.
Right now only private stock or the McCarty 594 model that I know of have neck binding, but once again, no reason a dealer couldn't spec. this for a wood library run.

Once again, wood library runs are your best bet.

You can probably guess that I'm a fan of wood library, I have both a CU24 and a McCarty 594 wood library models. It is a great way to get close to private stock materials and options, and to have something fairly unique, at relatively affordable prices.
Good luck hunting!

I'm in Canada, so I contacted my guy at Long and Mcquade about doing a wood library run.
2016 just happens to be the 50th anniversary of Long and Mcquade, so I pitched the idea as a way to celibrate their anniversary... hopefully they go for it.

I think @goat-n-gitter's implication was to look at those dealers for existing runs. I feel like I've seen a lot of toggle guitars on those sites...

I don't buy across the border.. by the time I factor in exchange, shipping and tax.. it's not worth my time.

There's 58/15's on Reverb $5,200 USD.. with exchange that': $7,200 plus shipping then I have to pay sales tax when it shows up at my door.

$8,500 for a guitar that costs an American under $6,000

There are lots of amazing PRS shops in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, etc. and the world's longest undefended border. Just sayin'...
