I've recently purchase a custom 24-08 SE which I absolutely love playing! The one thing I notice is that the selector switch has intermittent issues when changing from neck to bridge pups. It seems that the volume is either low or none at all for that particular pup. If I move the selector switch back and forth it eventually works. It doesn't happen often and didn't happen during my last band practice. Has anyone experienced flaky selector switches? Is the quality of the switch not good? I'm working with the supplier on it to get resolved, but thought I would ask in this forum to get other thoughts.

My 24-08 SE did the same thing. The first couple of times, contact cleaner took care of it. Another time it didn't and I resoldered one of the wires that appeared to be loose. Worked fine again for a while. After a while, it started again. While resoldering all of the wires, I noticed that it appeared like with every movement of the switch, a small amount of plastic particles would fall from the plastic piece at the opposite side of the knob itself (the part that actually pushes the contacts away from each other).

It looked like maybe the flexible metal pieces scrape a small amount of plastic off each time it changes position and those particles fall in between the contacts. I put a small amount of a silicone grease on the plastic part to help it 'glide' without scraping and it has been fine for a couple months.

Is this THE problem? I don't know. I may have had two separate problems going on. My intent is to just replace it with a better switch in the near future.
