Hi

I'm looking for some advice on corrosion on my Custom 22.

It's a 2002 model and I've owned it from new. I gigged with it regularly for 30 months with regular cleaning and string changes. It then sat in its case for approx. 8 years. When I eventually took it out, the pickup covers and bridge had corroded as shown in the pictures in the links.

I've had the guitar professionally set up and cleaned since then. It's only the pickups I'm concerned about.

is this amount of corrosion normal? Anyone else with a similar aged model experienced the same?

Normal? Well, depends on the former owners sweat, I suppose. PRS recommends Blue Magic Liquid Metal Polish - that should help a good deal. Might take some good elbow grease as well.
